City introduction
The District of North Vancouver is a district municipality on the North Shore of Metro Vancouver, located north of the City of Vancouver across Burrard Inlet. It borders the City of North Vancouver, the District of West Vancouver, Squamish Nation and Tsleil-Waututh Nation, and together with those communities forms the North Shore. The District covers about 160 square kilometres, and natural green space accounts for roughly 78% of that area.
The District's landscape runs from the forests and alpine terrain of the North Shore Mountains down through steep river valleys and escarpments to the marine shoreline of Burrard Inlet and Indian Arm. Its official documents describe a community shaped by those mountains, rivers and shoreline, with ecosystems that range from alpine landscapes and streams to wetlands and marine habitats, and with settlement spread across a series of neighbourhood centres rather than a single downtown.

CEER for 2026 is No data because the year is incomplete.
Housing property-tax historical trend
The trend uses one measure only: the District (municipal) property tax increase. Each row is the figure for that year on that one measure. A year with no verified figure on that measure is shown as No data.

Separate note — tax rates, not the trend
This note is separate from the trend above and is not part of it. A residential tax rate per $1,000 of assessed value can move even when the levy increase is small, because the assessment base changes. Rate figures are therefore not used as the trend and are not mixed into the increase chart.
2026, Class 1 Residential, dollars of tax per $1,000 of taxable value (District of North Vancouver, 2026 Tax Rates schedule):
| Component | Rate per $1,000 |
|---|---|
| Municipal | 1.83419 |
| School (residential) | 0.99580 |
| TransLink | 0.35860 |
| Metro Vancouver | 0.05506 |
| BC Assessment | 0.03810 |
| Municipal Finance Authority | 0.00020 |
| Total tax rate | 3.28195 |

Note: the municipal portion (1.83419) is also set out in Tax Rates Bylaw 8795, 2026 (general municipal 1.76803 + debt 0.06616 = 1.83419).
Method
This trend uses one metric only, every year: the District (municipal) property tax increase.
Where a city publishes an increase as components, the components are recorded in the scope notes; a total is used only where the city itself publishes it.
Canada inflation is Statistics Canada, Table 18-10-0005-01, CPI annual average. Canadian dollar Real CEER is Bank of Canada, Valet series CEER_BROADM, total index (1999=100); each value is the annual average of the 12 monthly total Real CEER values (a computed annual average, not a figure the Bank publishes directly as an annual value).
How to read this page
Bars are the District of North Vancouver municipal property tax increase. Lines are Canada inflation and Canadian dollar Real CEER.
The left axis is a percentage axis shared by the bars and the inflation line. The right axis is a separate index axis for Canadian dollar Real CEER only. CEER is an index and is not a percentage.
A year shown as “No data” has no bar for property tax and no line point for that series, and a missing year breaks a line.
Tax rates per $1,000 are separate from the trend and are not charted.
