Housing property-tax trend
This table uses the municipal portion only, with the property tax and the growth-infrastructure levy shown separately in each year. They are never added into one total. Figures for other bodies collected on the tax bill, such as provincial school tax, TransLink, Metro Vancouver, BC Assessment and the Municipal Finance Authority, are not included in these municipal figures. BC Assessment values are set on July 1 market conditions, so a change in assessed value is not the same as a municipal increase.
| Year | Figure | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| 2025 | Property tax 3.90%, plus growth-infrastructure levy 1.90% shown separately | Property tax increase, plus a separate growth-infrastructure investment levy. |
| 2026 | Property tax 2.90%, plus growth-infrastructure levy 1.90% shown separately | Property tax increase, plus a separate growth-infrastructure investment levy. The 2.90% portion is about +$61 for the average home (average assessment $1.34 million). |
Other years: No data. A gap means no verified figure was published in this round; it does not mean the increase was zero, and no gap has been filled with zero. A plan figure of about 7.0% per year was not published here as an adopted actual figure.
